Twice the Overdrive

The Mullet Drive Version 2 is the best Mullet Drive yet. It delivers all the tones from Version 1... and a whole lot more.

The Yellow and Red channels are now completely independent and each feature their own full set of controls. The new Board Mode adds even more flexibility and lets the pedal adapt perfectly to your setup and playing style.

The entire audio path is 100% analog. A complex relay matrix, inspired by multi-channel tube amps, handles the intelligent mode switching behind the scenes.

The Mullet Drive 2 also takes another step toward the design philosophy of my other pedals. For the first time, it features soft-touch footswitches. They feel smoother underfoot and make the pedal especially comfortable to use when recording right at your desk.

Amp Mode & Board Mode

Amp Mode

Amp Mode stays true to the original vision of the Mullet Drive. The pedal works like a channel-switching amplifier: one footswitch handles mute or bypass, while the other switches between the two channels. When activated, the pedal starts directly in the selected channel and can be switched at any time.

Board Mode

Version 2 introduces the new Board Mode. In this mode, the Mullet Drive 2 behaves like a traditional overdrive pedal with a dedicated footswitch for each channel... except there are two completely independent overdrive circuits living inside the same enclosure. Both channels can be activated on their own or stacked together to unlock an even wider range of tones.

Yellow Channel

The Yellow Channel of the Mullet Drive combines a MOSFET gain stage with an additional germanium diode to create a rich asymmetrical overdrive with a subtle touch of fuzz. Originally developed with humbuckers in mind, it shines just as well with single coils thanks to its versatility and tonal depth. Its raw, slightly dirty character delivers exactly the blend of drive and warmth that makes classic rock tones so special.

Red Channel

The Red Channel of the Mullet Drive delivers symmetrical MOSFET clipping with the feel and character of a cranked tube amp. Its sound covers everything from classic rock 'n' roll and vintage drive tones to modern pop and rock sounds. Thanks to its wide gain range, the amount and character of the overdrive can be dialed in precisely to match your playing style.

Enclosure & Design

Like all my pedals, the Mullet Drive features a handmade enclosure with a unique design, crafted in Germany. German steel and real craftsmanship come together to create a housing that reflects precision, quality and attention to detail.

Its rugged construction is built for everyday use and will reliably follow you from the studio to the rehearsal room and onto the stage. The model name is finished with a unique screen-printed color gradient that stands out on any pedalboard. Designed for musicians who appreciate the finer details and have a passion for great design.

Every Pedal is Unique

The gradient effect in the model name is hand-printed using a complex screen-printing process. No two gradients are exactly alike, giving each pedal its own unique character. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind pedal.

Custom Pot Knobs

In addition to the custom-designed solid aluminum knobs, made specifically for the Mullet Drive, a unique dual potentiometer was developed in collaboration with Alpha Taiwan, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pro-audio components. This allows the Mullet Drive to combine six independent control functions in a classic 3-knob pedal layout. Design, functionality, and ease of use come together to create a well-thought-out overall concept.
